EMDR Intensives

Accelerated Healing, Focused Support

EMDR intensives offer a powerful, time-efficient way to work through trauma, limiting beliefs, and emotional blocks. Instead of attending weekly sessions over many months, intensives provide extended, focused EMDR sessions across two or more days—allowing for deeper processing in a shorter time frame.

This approach is ideal for those who want to experience significant progress quickly, or who prefer a more structured, immersive format.

What Are EMDR Intensives?

EMDR intensives are extended therapy sessions designed to target specific issues such as:

  • Ongoing issues like imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, or shame

  • Betrayal trauma, relationship breakdowns or sexual trauma

  • Preparing for or recovering from major life events (e.g., surgery, divorce, career transitions)

  • Attachment trauma or breaking free from unhealthy relationship patterns

Rather than spending months circling the same patterns, intensives allow us to stay with the process for long enough to move through stuck points more efficiently—often in hours rather than weeks.

Why Choose an Intensive?

Efficient: Work through more material in a condensed timeframe

Effective: Research shows EMDR intensives can produce similar—if not better—results than weekly therapy for certain issues

Focused: Time is dedicated solely to your healing goals, without the interruptions of everyday life

Flexible: Intensives can be half-day, full-day, or spread over several consecutive days, depending on your needs and readiness

Who Are Intensives For?

EMDR intensives may be a good fit if you:

  • Have a specific issue you want to address quickly

  • Have limited time or availability for weekly therapy

  • Feel stuck in weekly sessions and want to go deeper

  • Are at a stable point in your life but carrying unresolved pain

  • Want to “clear the noise” around negative beliefs like I’m not enough, i’ll be found out, or *I always mess things up*

They are also suitable as adjunct support for clients already working with another therapist, focusing just on trauma resolution while the rest of your therapy continues elsewhere.

What to Expect

Every intensive is tailored to your needs.

The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Consultation**: We’ll meet online to assess suitability, set goals, and plan your personalised intensive.

  2. Preparation You’ll be supported with resources and regulation tools to ensure you're ready for the deeper work.

  3. Intensive Sessions: These may include resourcing, EMDR processing, body-based work, and integration support.

  4. Follow-Up: Optional integration sessions help you process and reflect on the changes you’ve made.
