About me

Hello, and welcome. I’m Jodie Slee a psychotherapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals, couples and families through trauma, loss, and emotional healing. I hold a Master of Science degree (Distinction) in psychotherapy and I’m a fully qualified EMDR Practitioner with a deep interest in how we recover from the wounds that shape our lives.

My practice is grounded in compassion, clarity, and a belief that real change is possible—even when clients feel stuck or unable to move forward.  Whether you’re navigating the effects of trauma, struggling to move on from heartbreak, or carrying pain that feels hard to put into words, I offer a space where you can begin to process and reconnect with yourself.

Alongside my core training in EMDR, I have additional qualifications and extensive experience in working with:

  • Sexual trauma and its complex emotional and relational impacts

  • Betrayal trauma, including infidelity and ruptures in trust

  • Heartbreak and loss

  • Imposter syndrome

  • Attachment trauma from adverse life experiences

These experiences can profoundly affect our sense of safety, identity, and connection. My approach is to meet them with care, depth, and respect for the pace your system needs to heal.

Tailored, Collaborative Therapy

I treat each client as an individual, tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs, history, and goals. Some clients arrive with a clear focus and want a structured, goal-oriented process. Others need space to explore and reflect before knowing what they want to work on. Both are welcome. I support you to be as directive and goals-focused—or as exploratory and intuitive—as you feel comfortable. Therapy is your space, and it moves at your pace.

Why EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a research-backed therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful memories and beliefs—often more rapidly and deeply than traditional talk therapy. It’s especially effective for people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their worth.

If you're wondering whether therapy—and EMDR in particular—might be the right fit for you, I’d be honoured to support you in exploring what healing could look like.
